Open Eye Gallery Volunteer Show
During my time at the Open Eye Gallery, we put together a volunteer show for the outside digital gallery. The theme was "Connected Through the Lens". To me, to be connected in this day in age means community. As a scouser, born and bred, I have grown up with family and friends being proud to be from Liverpool and this is something I wanted to capture within my work. The first image, entitled “Shot”, was captured in Liverpool’s infamous Cavern Pub, filled with culture and history. “Padlocks” show the padlocks along the Royal Albert Dock which mark the love this city spreads and shares. And the final image, “Scouse Power”, is a reminder that this city is powerful and there is so much love and pride within it. Connection in this sense is the community around us and the good it can do.
